Jacq became a UKCC Level 2 sliding seat coach in 2014 and later qualified as a UKCC Level 2 Strength and Conditioning coach. She is a member of the Deben Rowing Club in suffolk where she has held the role of Welfare Officer and Captain. She also holds the position of Club and Coach Coordinator in the Eastern Region, representing the counties of Norfolk, Suffolk and Essex and has recently been appointed as a BR Coach Educator.

Lydia Swift Events Committee

Lydia became involved in rowing by coxing for her college at university in Durham. On graduation she joined Bedford Rowing Club and decided that rowing was warmer than coxing. Following stints on the Bedford Rowing Club committee and acting as Membership Secretary, she is now part of the Events committee that organises three head races per year in Bedford. If not sculling or being a qualifed Multi-Lane umpire, she makes guest appearance in the coxes seat or as a sub for the Bedford Rowing Club Mens Novice Development Inbetweeners squad.

Dick Millard

Dick Millard Junior Rowing Representative

Dick started rowing at Emanuel School in 1969 and began a long involvement in the sport by wobbling about in clinker singles for some considerable time by Barnes Bridge. On leaving Emanuel, he continued competing with Tideway clubs, Thames Tradesmen and Thames, for some years. He joined Lea Vets in 2008, but when he was dropped from a key race, allegedly because he was too young, he sought consolation in coaching Juniors which he does to this day. Dick is a National Umpire and sits on BR’s Junior Rowing Committee, and is secretary of the Young Women’s Rowing Group - an advocacy group which is an uneasy alliance of top girls rowing schools and clubs with big junior girls sections.
